Lancashire Infantry Museum
How many museums do you know where you can see real live soldiers ? Come and visit the Museum at Fulwood Barracks and have fun finding out about the life of a soldier from our regiment. We tell the story of over 300 years of Regimental history.
From the 1st April, we're changing our name from the Queen's Lancashire Regiment to The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment - Lancashire Infantry Museum.
Find out about the Captain of the Regimental football team who inspired his men to keep fighting at Spion Kop (and inspired the name of the Kop at football grounds like Anfield). Hear about the British Army’s escape from Dunkirk, jungle warfare in Malaya, and the desert conditions of Afghanistan. See a soldier’s false teeth, our wall of medals, and a cannon captured from a pirate ship over 100 years ago.
Ever wondered what it’s like to wear a soldier’s uniform? We have all the kit including body armour for you to try on yourself. Have a go at our family trails and design your own uniform too!
Top tips – don’t forget to bring your camera for a photo of you in uniform!
Entry costs – nothing, it’s absolutely free!
Opening times – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 10am to 4pm.
How to find us – the Museum is at Fulwood Barracks on Watling Street Road in Fulwood. Drive up to the welcome point and our friendly soldiers will show you the way to our free car park. We are 2-3 miles out of the city centre, past Preston North End’s football group, close to Sainsbury’s on Deepdale Road.
