We’re now open after our two year refurbishment and have lots to offer to families all year around. With eight new interactive galleries, brand new cafe and shop there's lots to entertain all ages.

Did you know the building was originally a courthouse and that prisoners were kept in the basement before their trial? One of the youngest people on trial here was only 6 years old! Put on your judges robe and wig and take your place in our recreated courtroom – will you be like the fearsome "Terror of the Criminal" judge Batty Addison who once sat at this court?
Explore our atmospheric new WW1 trench. Experience the sights, sounds and some pretty horrid smells of life on the front lines.

Opening times – Tuesdays to Saturdays and Bank Holiday Mondays 10.30am-5pm and 12 noon-5pm on Sundays.
How to find us – the Museum is close to Preston city centre on the A6, a 10 minute walk from the bus station and 20 minutes walk from the train station. It is around 2 miles from Junction 31 of the M6. Local buses run near to the Museum on Ribbleton and New Hall Lanes. We have a free onsite car park at the front of the Museum.
